Wrote in the notebook "barleywine character" while tasting. Aroma was sweet malt and citrus hops, very strong, almost perfume like. Flavor was very well balanced malts and hops and alot of "candy sugar" in the finish. Pleasantly surprised by this brew!!

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Tap at HDG. Was actually most looking forward to trying this one. Damn this was a huge let-down and I still have to beleive that what was served was NOT the strong ale. No way this one was anywhere near 10%. Pours a plain amber with a thin head and dull body. Aroma is weak thin, papery, light oxidation, light metallicy caramel malts that you get from a 5% amber ale after 5 years. White wine flavor with some light metallic- some soy ox, paper, caramel sweetness. Finsihes with a watered down weak feeling and just overall dissappointing as hell. Blech. Wouldnt be surprised if this was actually the Ghettoblaster from Motor City. notalush (2789), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Tap at HDG - cloudy medium red pour, with a lasting ring of lace - aroma of roasted nuts, vanilla, a bit of earthy, musty character - thin and quite dry - nutty character dominates, with some herbal notes, vanilla, minerals - loaded with oxidation, metallic character, and various other flaws that just pile on top of one another. egajdzis (3719), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Poured a hazy almond amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel corn, light toast, a bit of spices, and alcohol. Taste maybe a bit of DMS, sweet toffee, dry, bready, grains, and alcohol in the finish. drfabulous (1337), Columbia, Missouri, USA
