| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 20, 2007 12 oz bottle from discount liquors in milwaukee. Cloudy dark brown/red color like dark apple cider with no head, only a thin off-white head that hula-hoops the edge of the glass. Lots of lively, fruity aromas with lots of dough/cookie, some alc, very well done. Flavor is cookie, med to big sweet, slight alc that is very appropiate, dough, apple, cranberry, some other citrus maybe orange, tangy in that barleywine style and barely any hop bitterness, some grains. Med to full, syrupy body with no carb. Overall a very enjoyable brew and a very enjoyable barleywine, very reminiscent of moylans barleywine. Boutip (2487), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Bottle from Monger: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a small dirty white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and light dry fruits is intriguing. Taste is dominated by some light dry fruits such as figs and plums with an interesting malt profile and light dry hoppy finish. Body is a bit light for the style with medium carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. I enjoyed this berley wine and appreciated a more malt orientated approach then an hoppy barley wine which I don’t always appreciate. Saarlander (1592), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Nose is richly fruity and full of caramel malts. A little alcohol noted. Flavor is sweet at first, than a little citrus and tropical fruits, finishing with a sweet alcoholic bite. Enjoyed this much more as it warmed. Paired surprisingly nicely with some panko onion rings. sliffy (2017), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a small disappearing beige head. This one is more viscous than most. The aroma is highly malty with some fruitiness present as well. The flavor contains caramel malts and again some fruit. As this warms the alcohol which was hidden starts to appear. There is also a smoked sensation. yespr (13364), Copenhagen O, Denmark
