Commercial Description:
The Headless Man is brewed in the "old way" of a Düsseldorf-style Altbier. A unique cold lagering process gives this amber ale its smooth taste.

Nothing groundbreaking but nothing terrible. Just a smooth, easily drinkable brew for just about any occasion.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a moderate white head that falls back into the beer rather quickly leaving only a thin white ring. Very nice nose on this beer. It is mostly sweet malt aroma mixed in with a nice subtle hop presence. Flavor is grainy and earthy, not as sweet as you would think from the aroma. Mouthfeel is good, but it has a lingering aftertaste at the top of my throat. Not bad at all.

Bottle. Cloudy amber coloured with a small white head. Sweet and malty aroma of caramel with notes of hay, dried fruits and hops. Sweet flavour of caramel and dried fruits with notes of rye bread and hops. Hoppy finish.

The appearance is a cloudy bright orange to an amber and it has a foamy white head. Slightly bitter and earthy tasting. More earthy spices and a little sweet malt comes at the end. Nothing really stands out. I’ll stick with their porters.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Hazy amber golden with a small, rough off-white head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body, again overripe fruit and caramel and a dry lightly hoppy finish. 130608

12 fl oz botle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Mild cinnamon spiced aroma. Flavour is mild roasted with a light bitterness and mild malt base.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, flat copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, with scents of grain, caramel, syrupy hops, and roasted malt. Taste is light, with a relatively flat and dry flavor of grain and malt and perhaps a slight honey-tasting sweetness on the finish. Nothing special, but still pleasant.

Richly amber colored with a thick off white head, giving off a somewhat butterscotch-like aroma with toasty accents. Overall flavor is considerably lighter than expected, with a fruity and somewhat watery aspect. The finish is pleasant enough, but quickly dissipates from the palate leaving a sweet, if somewhat light flavor. Due to its lightness, it would make a great pair to grilled chicken and potato salad on a picnic.
