Flavor is rich roasted malt, a bit of bread, some spiciness toward the end. More hops and spice than the average Marzen. Medium bodied, a bit chalky on the palate. More flavor than most similar style beers. Good stuff.

overcooked vegetable notes.   Subtle, but its there.   Thinking this one is on the way down.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Nice malty finish, semi-sweet, perhaps a little bit of caramel and/or toffee.   I can
see where this one would be pretty tasty had I drank it fresh.   Still, fairly enjoyable.   Thanks Bob!

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a bright clear copper body with a small fizzy light beige head that fell to a wispy film. The nose is toasty and munich malt with a touch of huskiness. Some light caramel. The flavor is a lot more grainy and husky than I’d like with minimal munich malt sweetness. Finishes dry and toasty with that odd husky quality. Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation level. Not the best example of the style. arkurzynski (136), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2009 Pours amber with yellow head. Malty aroma with hints of grassy hops. A little skunk. Smooth, with malt in the front and some spicy hoppiness on the tail end. Would prefer it to have a little more body/mouthfeel and character. Warmth on the way down. jebert (141), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2009 Pours a beautiful amber with a big foamy head and lots of effervesence. Nose is malt, bread and yeast. Creamy on the palate, malt taste comes through followed by a bit of hoppiness on the finish. Very pleasant, not overpowering. Pairs well with ham and cheese, pretzels or nuts. nqualls (1442), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
