Oct 17, 2007 Updated: Jan 17, 2008had at ABR 07. like was said IT IS UNIQUE. i liked the mint mixed in but could use more coffee and slightly LESS mint but wow it was good and refreshing for sure. will try to hunt this down again for sure.
EDIT: By some miracle of the beer gods, I stumbled upon a freshly tapped keg of this at Old Chicago in Apple valley, MN. which is nice since we drove 450 miles for growlers and when we got there, they were out.!!!! Anywho, i thought it was about as tasty as I recall. It seems to have strong mint right away that faded a bit over time. as for the coffee it too seemed to fade slightly overtime. But, the end result after it sat for ten fifteen mins to warm up a bit was really really good. Had a nice dry finish, you could taste a sweet/minty flavor but it was not overpowering, and the coffee was quite subdued almost more of a burnt/heavily toasted stout. Overall it was good. a++

Sep 12, 2004 Autumn Brew Review 2004. Has a very black body with zero head. The aroma definitely lets you know there is mint present, but not so much that it knocks your socks off. Good coffee and mint flavors paired well with the roasted malt. Not as heavy and thick, or as sweet, as I would have expected. My favorite from South Shore!

Aug 10, 2008 GTMW 2008. Really looked forward to trying this and wasn’t dissapointed. The aroma on this was about the same as a bowl of mint chip ice cream. Amazing. Flavor on this was good but the body was a bit too thin for my liking. Overall though this is definitely something to try if you ever have the chance.

Sep 28, 2008 ABR ’08 - Pours a deep dark brown with a thin off-white head. The nose was strong in mint, with subtle hints of coffee, & chocolate. Came across the palate with a strong coffee but it had a very nice minty finish. Very unique I would defiantly buy this .

Aug 11, 2009 Sampled at GTMW 2009. Black pour with a fizzy, beige head. Aroma of (surprise) coffee and mint. Flavor is (you guessed it) mostly coffee and mint but blends well with the chocolate maltiness from the stout. This is a very interesting blend and I don’t know of any other beer I have tried that uses mint. But it works. I was intrigued by the concept and pleasantly surprised by the results.

Sep 13, 2004 2004 Autumn Brew Review: Dark Coloring with No Head. Some Chocolate/Mint Aroma. Some Roasted Coffee and Chocolate. Mint Not as Evident as I Would Have Like, But it Was Balanced Very Well and a Wonderful Sweet Stout.

Feb 3, 2008 On tap at the Muddy pig. nice coffee and mint aroma (plus the usual stout suspects). Dark brown/black body with minimal head. Strong mint flavor dominates the coffee and roasted malt flavors. Good, but the bourbon aging is a real benefit to this beer as the vanilla and oak compliment the mint and coffee rather nicely.
