| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2010 12oz Bottle, purchased at Zeno’s Pub - State College, PA. Very subtle and quiet alcohol and brown malt aroma. Pours mid-teak brown, with a wispy rim in off-white. Flavor is tangy and piquant. A seltzer-like body brings not-so-much flavor. Dark brown sugar, a tiny bit of caramelized roast, and some vague hazlenut. Body is much thinner than I expect. Just not much chewiness or depth to this beer. The flavor profile is just peculiar too. Much more like a weak-ass Brown Ale than anything else. Not my favorite. beernovice39 (449), South Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 6, 2010 Dark black pour, not jet black but it looks good. Not a scent in a porter that im used to, kinda sweet kinda booze. Strange taste for a porter as well. Is it too sweet? Don’t know but I don’t care for it. bhensonb (4617), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Bottle from craftbeerdesign. Thanks a bunch guy. Pours black with a three finger medium tan head. Chocolate and burnt malt aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is definitely chocolate, a bit chalky, ashey. Smooth. Unusually mouthsmacking. Really like this. promtheus (151), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2010 On draught in a mug. Very dark pour for a porter. Small tan head. Aroma of nuts and smoke. Taste resembles chocolate and the mouthfeel has a definite milk smoothness. A really good porter, definitely has some elements of a stout. jlruthven (146), Milledgeville, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2010 Bottle, poured into a snifter. Jet black, with pillowed tan head, surprisingly good retention and lacing for something of the non-baltic variety. Nose is light coffee, chocolate, slightly smoky, and a hint of blackberry. Taste is mostly bitter dark chocolate and oats. Smooth mouthfeel, a bit sweeter than most porters I’ve tried. Finishes very clean. Solid, sessionable brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2010 This poured a very dark brown with a very minimal beige head. Aroma was roasted malts, some chocolate, and maybe some toffee too. Flavor was a bit of a disappointment, had classic roasted and chocolates, but very thin and is nothing compared to their baltic porter. alobar (1131), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2010 Pours a dark brown color with a tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate. Flavor is largely roasted malts with coffee and dark chocolate. Slightly thin mouth feel, but very enjoyable.
