The body is a pretty dark amber... quite nice. Aroma is delaightful sweet acohol smell. Quite nice. It has a really small taste that really tickles the palate. Taste of alcohol is actually rathered subdued considering the high gravity. (I actually just watched my roomate swill this beer and I almost cried... Speaking of which, after a night of heavy drinking my brother once purchased this beer and drank the entire big bottle in under ten minutes... I would have punched him, but he wouldn’t have felt it in his passed out state). Taste is definately sweet, but I can’t say exactly what taste makes it sweet. Taste is quite complex and a little fruity, but not as much as some reviewers make it out to be. Long finish there be. Quite good beer right here. Great white bottle, when taking off the labels! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2007 this is probably the most metalsome beer i’ve ever tried. it comes in glass bottles, but they’re frosted with a faux-ceramic covering. The logo is black and has a big shiny gold dragon on it. This seriously looks like something a wizard should be quaffing before a fierce battle. Plus, its name means "Golden Dragon" in Belgianese. This beer’s packaging is the equivalent of a Dio album cover.
The beer itself is a super-strong Belgian Triple. Tastes almost sickly sweet, in a good way. Very strong, with a bit of a burn on the way down. It smells like candy and caramel, with a fruity kind of taste. It tastes, more or less, like a pretty good Belgian Ale. Strong and badass and tasty. Just like a MIGHTY GOLDEN DRAGON.

Poured a slightly murky brown with red hghlights and a huge white head that left lacing down the entire glass. Aroma is sweet malt with dark fruits and only a hint of alcohol coming through. Flavor is excellent with dark fruit, belgian yeast, and where I would expect some peppery spiciness it instead is a pleasant sweetnes. Great beer overall. kevd193213 (571), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA

Aroma of bread, spices and malt. Taste dominated by caramel and Belgian yeast. Very smooth despite the higher alcohol content. bergface (57), madison, Alabama, USA

Its very sweet, and has a lot of body (so you cant really chug it, but why would you want to). I thought this beer would be much lighter (hence the Gulden name), but its actually more of a ruby color, the head pours quite tall. Butterscoth and caramel are the main flavors. ITLL GET YOU DRUNK! One of my favorite belgian ales.
