That’s alright. It’s a best bitter, decent berry fruit. It’s actually pretty good considering the 4 beers that went before. Mind you I did get bored with the English beers after this one and went onto the Germans. chriso (5418), London, Greater London, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 10, 2004 This brewery emerged from the short lived Bristol Brewing Co and started brewing in August 2004. This may be a test brew. Unless the festival conditioning is to blame, my advice is to keep testing. Attractive deep copper colour. There was a big sulphur whiff initially in the aroma (but I noticed the same with a number of other beers at this festival), which overwhelmed anything else in the aroma. Much better on the palate. Dry and at the malty end of the bitter spectrum, with some hop presence, but the finish was a touch soft. Overall, mediocre. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival.
