UPDATED: JUN 3, 2021 On tap at Lambic Tap Room, stated as 12%. A glossy jet black pour with a bone-colored head, very long retention. Aroma is smoke, black coffee, mulberry, chickory (long time no see!) Dry, robust, quite crisp and very umami. Slight saltiness, very strong but balanced final bitterness. Long-lasting, bitter finish with hints of smoke and coffee.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2020 Bottle. Dark brown, coffee foam. Aroma: sweet, caramel, apples, esters, a little burnt and smoked, jam and dried fruit. Sweet taste, caramel, apples, sometimes dried, a little burnt, a little alcohol, wine, warms, good.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2020 Bottle from the brewery, aged almost 1 year. Pours pitch black with a big brown head. Smell of chocolate, coffee and liquor. Flavor is strong on the coffee and toasted side, hints of honey-sugar, liquor, whiskey. A prominent note of pepper for an intensely spicy taste, yet sticky sweetish (cake) and mild bitter (coal), earth/peat. Finish is long, burning, toasted, peppery, spicy, light smoked. Texture is thick, heavy body, like, petroleum-heavy. Not an easy one

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2019 33cl bottle. Big tan head. Aroma of dust, roast, bread, strong torified malt. Light bitter.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2019 Une bière très sombre, quasi noire, avec une belle mousse couleur beige. Comme mentionné dans une autre critique, on retrouve dans le nez et la bouche une certaine touche de tabac froid, ce qui est assez perturbant. Le nez et la bouche développent tout de même d'autres saveurs, comme un côté fumé et torréfié, très café acidulé. Un stout qui n'est pas mauvais mais n'est clairement pas ma préférée.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2019 Impérial stout belge de qualité moyenne .. tout d abord une belle couleur bien noire et une fine mousse brunâtre très appréciable.. une bonne pétillance en bouche .. Au nez on note une odeur très particulière de tabac froid 🥶 à la première gorgée on retrouve ce goût fumé qui s estompe au fil de la dégustation .. en bouche on retrouve des arômes de malt très torréfiés voir« grillée «  mais malheureusement elle manque de corps et est trop sèche..nous offrant peu de longueur de dégustation.. l alcool est aussi bien présent dû à ce manque de corps.. En somme une bière très agréable et à la fois particulière mais malheureusement pas digne de cette magnifique brasserie

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2019 Geproefd begin februari 2016 tijdens BAB. Zwart bier met bruine schuimkraag. Aroma: vanille, geroosterde mout, (melk)chocolade, koffietoets. Medium body. Smaak: klein zoetje, vanille, tikje anijs; koolzuurprikkel, (melk)chocolade, bitter, lichtjes peper, alcoholtoets. Goed.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2019 Bottiglia. Un territorio olfattivo dominato da caffè rimasto troppo a scaldare nella moka e da cioccolato. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e il modo in cui permane è apprezzabile. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma color marrone scuro che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana fine, come quelle che costituiscono la forma del perlage. Il colore è come l'inchiostro nero. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è persistente. Il gusto è piacevole. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di crosta di pane, cioccolato fondente, caffè, liquirizia, pane tostato, agrumi, vaniglia e tabacco del sigaro.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2019 On tap. Pours black with a full foamy tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate, licorice, and dry roasted malts. Flavors of creamy coffee, creamy chocolate, vanilla and lightly smoked malts. Brilliant.
