| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head that retains fairly well and coats the glass with lacing.
The aroma is spicy, piney hops with some melon and alcohol.
The flavor is sweet sugary melon initially with a subdued spicy bitterness. I don’t really care for the balance of the sweetness and spiciness. As I drink more, it collides into one big bland mess. There are some notes of alcohol in the finish. It is medium bodied and kind of watery but sticky.
Overall, a pretty mediocre DIPA and a pretty big disappointment. The sweetness far outweighs the bitterness. I prefer my DIPAs bitter. This reminded me a bit of Avery’s 11 DIPA.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 7, 2010 Bottle. Pours coppery orange with a small frothy off-white head. Aromas of citrus (pineapple and orange), pine, and floral hops, with some sweet malt and alcohol present. Flavor is sweet, toffee and caramel, with bitter grassy and pine hops rushing in for a crisp warming finish laden with sweet mango and papaya. Low/medium carbonation, creamy, oily, warming. Creamy, sweet, fruity aftertaste. This is a great beer. mcox90 (703), Wilton, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 25, 2010 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep amber/orange color with a slight haze. Beer has a one finger thick, creamy, off white head that recedes leaving a nice coating of lace. Strong, earthy, pine hop aroma with a good whiff of alcohol. Powerful, but not overwhelming. Sturdy, full bodied palate with soft carbonation. The tongue, as well as other senses, are assualted by the powerful hop profile. Flavor is citrus hops with pine resin. Some caramel malt to tone all the hops down a bit. Very nice DIPA. VTHopHead (989), Barre, Vermont, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2010 Draft at Three Penny Taproom - Poured a pretty golden amber in color with a medium off-white head that produced some very nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is strong of pine resin hopiness. Flavor is also very hoppy with pine, but well muted by a fair amount of malt understructure. Alcohol not really apparent at all. Extremely well done... one of the best DIPAs that I have had. cprochak (518), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Balanced aroma of caramel with mostly pine and peach aroma. Incredibly well balanced with solid caramel flavors and a big bitter finish. ABV hidden very well. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2010 Bottle - Pours cloudy yellow, low white head, good nose of piney hops. Strong taste of hops and finishes malty, then bitter very late and lingers. For a double IPA, this is well balanced, a good one. mansquito (888), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 20, 2010 Lately double IPAs have been making me happy and this one here is not an exception. I don’t know what it is about the combination of hops and high alcohol that I like so much... Basically pours a light bronze amber color with a frothy white head. Flowers and hops and flowery hops dominate the aroma. Taste you get the various different hops flavors manifested. Obviously, the flowery hops take center stage, but there are citrus and piny notes in there as well. Bready feel in the back of the beer. Rather hoppy, but doesn’t leave my mouth to dry. Well-balanced overall. BigMike (42), Pennsylvania, USA

This is my first beer from Stoudts that i have tried and i am very impressed!
It poured a glowing amber orange color, with a white thick and creamy head. The smell was a roasted nutty malty smell and the flavor pretty much mimicked that as well.
Touches of roasted caramel and nuts. Overall a very complex beer. It had a real nice mouthfeel to it. Not too thick or thin.
I really like this beer. Very drinkable for 10%!!
Nice work Stoudts. After trying my first example from Stoudts, i will definitely be back for more.
