Dark brown colour with flashes of ruby and a thick beige head. Aroma of earthy malt with toffee and chocolate. The same notes come through in the flavour (+ a bit of coffee as well), with a strong, sweet start and a smooth, mildly bitter finish

nihtila (1016) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 16, 2015
10.1.2014. Todella niukka vaahto.

Bottle, picked up on the recommendation of Homer. Pours clear reddish deep chestnut, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, good lacing. Aroma is nutty, roasty, toffee and dark sugars, lightly smoky. Flavor is light sweet, malty, roasty, nutty, dried dark fruits, dark breads. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Really nice and a very pleasant surprise.

Leuchtend schwarz, solider kaffeebrauner schaum, würzig in der Nase, süßlich im Antrunk, wenig süßlich malzig, dadurch relativ leicht

AgentAle (916) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 23, 2015
Aroma is caramel, toffee, cream, roasty malts and biscuits. Taste is rich almost chewy mouthfeel with rich and sweet malts with dark sugar and a pale and well balanced bitterness. Appearance is a clear dark amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 16/20
hank37 (145) - banksia grove, AUSTRALIA - FEB 7, 2015
Aroma is spicy, with some date and raisin, the latter of which carries through in the tasting dept with raisin, toffee, and brown sugar. Finishes with a burnt-sugar bitterness that fades quite quickly and leaves surprisingly dry
