COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
WinterCoat's Imperial IPA is light amber in color. The fruitiness from the ale yeast combines beautifully with the body of the malts and the feshness of the bops to create a very well-balanced, though very heavily hopped brew. Double Hop has a heady hop aroma without too much bitterness. The smooth taste belies its 8.5% alcohol content. This beer is dangerously pleasant to drink!

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2019 Bottle @Øllets Dag, Fredericia. Cloudy amber, light beige head. Malty aroma, light pine, apple and wood... Malty, caramely flavour, sourish fruit. Weird.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2019 This was $5 off the hefty price tag on clearance, and now I know why. The 'double-hop' label is a little deceiving, as this is more like an extra or regular pale ale as far as hopiness. Semi-cloudy dark yellow-light orange appearance. Mouthfeel a little flat, as I thought this style would have more carbonation. Flavor is grainy and grassy, not much malt....sorta like a saison-ESB hybrid. This was something new to try, but would pass in the future.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours amber with a small off-white head leaving good lacing. Aroma of hop, caramel, citrus fruit, floral, light veg and malt. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Murky, light umber color with a smaller covering of big taupe bubbles. Lightly fruity aroma. Hints of fruit wine and floral hops. Earthy, fruity flavors with light strawberries and tart cranberries. Reminds me of a traditional old ale with a bit more hops. Finish gains some malt, but still a bit “off” with the tartness. 3/10

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Pours a murky brown beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma of faint hops, light caramel and some grassy notes. Hops have faded a bit. Flavor is very thin, light bitterness and has low carbonation. Not the best IIPA.

Bottle at the "Dean is a cheap bastard tasting cos he let Rene buy a beer from the shop and then asked to taste it for the tick" tasting. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin whispy white head. The aroma is dry mineral, light aspirin. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big yeast, citrus mineral light malt palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
