Bottle: Pasteurised.
A full-bodied and malty ale with a rounded, smooth fruit palate and a tight, creamy head that laces all the way down the glass. Rich in colour with a smooth, creamy texture and a distinctively strong flavour.

Pours a clear amber-brown with a fantastic head and thick, lasting lacing. Aroma is vaguely malty. Tastes chalky & dry, stale malt but nicely balanced hopping. Body is good and carb is decent, wonderful creamy mouthfeel. Don’t get me wrong, this beer is very drinkable, but they need to get rid of that lagery corn taste. Very tell-tale macro. Kudos on decent hopping, though.

LCBO acquisition. Pours copper body with some white foamy head that sticks to the glass on the way down. Pleasant mild hoppy aroma. The mouthfeel is a little below average, but it is also very easy drinking. A serviceable ESB. Sourish at the sediment of the bottle.

[2807-20100315] 500mL bottle. Green corn meal aroma has mild hints of vanilla ice cream. Clear, amber body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Toasted corn grains flavour. Medium body. Repeatable, fine.

With the exception of the hint of smokiness somewhere in the taste, this is about as watery and bland as an ale gets. Why this has been rated so high is beyond me. I had this back-to-back with Ruddles County (which has a much lower rating within the same style) and the St. Andrews does not get up to its knees. I mean, there is no nose at all, and I do mean NO nose. Moreover, its virtually tasteless. Come on people, re-rate and get a grip. This is bad.

Bottle 500ml. Pours a copper-golden color with a big fluffy white head. Leaves nice lacing, too. Rather low carbonation. Medium body. Aroma of caramel, some fruits, a little hops but mainly very malty. A little sweet and spicy aftertaste. Very smooth and drinkable. Would try it again.

Bottle. Pours warm golden amber in color with a just off white head. Spicy hoppy aroma, well balanced malt flavor, smooth finish. Solid pint, really enjoyable.

Bottle. It’s golden amber with a hefty head from a quick pour. Aromas of grass and dandelion with some biscuit behind. Mouthfeel is fairly watery. There is caramel, brown bread, grass and dandelion in the flavour with a short malty finish.

Best beer I had for my 35th birthday. Dark brown pour with a foamy white head. Nutty and slightly fruity scent. Bready aftersmell. Malty nutty teaste. A touch sweet. Overall well balanced and really pleasant. Nice warming aftertaste.
