COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to encapsulate the flavours of mezcal, this bright golden beer smoulders with smoky notes, as well as intense fruit character. A strong ale brewed with smoked malt and smoked agave syrup, aged in both Islay and Speyside casks, some loaded with Sal de Gusano.

The resultant barrel-aged beer swings wildly between the intense Islay notes, crackling with peat smoke and toasted marshmallow, and the rich, fruity Speyside bringing peach, apricot and mango.

Beer5000 (10641) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 17, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2022 Backlog February 2017. Clear golden body under a small off-white head. Aroma of peated malt, oak and some fruit. Taste is sweet with lots of peat, whisky, sweet malt, kinda fruity and warming alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Lots of strong aroma and flavors here, but not very balanced.

Keg at BrewDog Camden in 2016. Deep golden. Huge aroma of whisky, peat, smoked malt, oakchips and pineapple. Great medley of sweet fruit, warm alcohol and bitter resinous flavours.

Taste: sweet malts, caramel, toffee, smoked malts, whisky notes, fruit loaf, spices, alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carb, smooth boozy mouthfeel, spicy peat laden finish. A sipper for sure, a little too full on for me

[10152-20180225] Tap. Smoked toasted plastic grains aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Jalapeno peppers and cigarette-toasted grains flavour has a touch of sweet boozy caramel. Medium body is a little bitter. Not a fan but seems nicely made. (7/3/6/3/14) 3.3

jercraigs (14874) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 16, 2018
2018-02-25. Lightly hazy orange body, modest beige head. 3+ Aroma of peat and smoked malt, nice fruit below. Flavour is similar, smokey overtones, sweet fruity base then lingering peaty smoke in the finish. Smooth medium to full bodied palate, light carbonation. Love the fruit notes and the base but the peaty smoke is not to my taste. Decent but really not to my own tastes unfortunately. 7/3/5-6/3/14 On tap at BrewDog, Cardiff.
