UPDATED: NOV 30, 2021 33cl bottle pours a translucent copper with a ring of white head. Nose has malt, raisins, caramel, some booze. Flavor is old school, malt and caramel and treacle, dates and raisins and figs. Full bodied, sweet, boozy finish.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2021 Shed by salad funk. At a tasting. It’s an old-school bw with a little bit of astringency and a cherry aspect to it. It’s freezing outside and the beer is cold so it’s hard to really taste it at this point. But it’s old school and not half bad.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2021 2018 bottle c/o SolidFunk. Really nice barleywine, great malt tone. Amber malt, sweet malty sugary tone. Really nice.

330 ml bottle. 2017 vintage. Pours a deep mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of brown sugar/toffe, sweet malts, and sugary raisins. Flavors of bitter metallic caramel, burnt sugar, sweet bready malts, and trail mix. OK. Could still age...

Bottle at the April Fools Day DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a dark red color with a small light tan head. Aroma was light boozy sweet malts, caramel notes. Flavor was very malty. Lots of malty grains. light herbal notes. Not too bad.

Bottle from solidfunk many thanks. Ruby brown pour. Nose is caramel and red fruit. Tastes of red fruits berry and plum, vegetal, caramel, chocolate malt, tobacco. Pretty sweet and boozy. Nice this time o season.

Opaque dark mohagany hue with a meager sized and quickly dissipating beige head. Electrifyingly pleasant aroma that consists of alcohol, caramel malt, dried berries, dates, and of course red wine. An expectedly robust texture with a vast depth and smooth cream like tactility. And finally to suit the intensive aroma and body, the taste contains alcohol, red wine, dried fruit with berries and grapes in particular, as well as caramel, vanilla, and perhaps cinnamon. Wonderfully vigorous.

Bottle. Deep reddish brown pour with a small, light tan head, some lacing. Aroma is caramel, honey, raisin, a little bready, hides the ABV nicely. Taste is a little more boozy, brown sugar, caramel, subtle dark fruits, a little bready as well, finishes with some nice bitterness to balance. A pretty flavourful and balanced barleywine.
