COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For this beer we have given the traditional ESB a To Øl twist. This beer is 7% (higher than your regular ESB) and we chose to brew this beer with Tangerines, Clementine and Grapefruit. We packed this full of wheat malt to aid the crisp finish and accentuate the fruit flavours, and the beer was dry-hopped with Mandarina Bavaria, again to illustrate the citrus bite from the fruits. Ingredients: water, barley malt (Melanoidin, Pale, Pilsner), wheat malt, flaked wheat, grapefruit, tangerine, mandarins, hops (Citra, Mandarina Bavaria), yeast.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2020 330ml bottle. Minimally milky, orangey, dark golden colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Fruity, citrusy, hoppy aroma, notes of marmalade, orange, tangerine, orange peel, a touch of grapefruit, blood orange, sweet-ish, pale and slightly caramel background. Taste is bitter, zesty, citrusy fruity, minimally tart, notes of marmalade, orange, tangerine, orange zest, some grapefruit, blood orange, minimally sweet, pale and caramel malty basis. Rather citrusy for an ESB.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2019 Aroma mainly hop with notes of citrus and spruce. Golden color, a little muddy from the yeast with a small white foam. In the taste of citrus, bitter grapefruit, a little dry aftertaste. The body is light, medium carbonation, slightly effervescent.

330 ml bottle bought HK Brewcraft in Central.

Looks: Translucent golden honey colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; One finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 90 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing with active slight carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant Ale malt, with oranges, citrus peels, tangerines, light caramel, floral, fair sugar, light spices, wood, biscuits, lemon and light grass.

Taste: Mid to light sweet malt, with potent fresh fruity sourness, strong mandarins, citrus, tangerines, caramel, floral, sugar, spices, biscuits, lemon, medium bitter hops and grass.

Body: Medium body. Fairly slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Very good Amber maltyness in a fairly solid background. Caramel malt is blanketed by a wave of fresh mandarin orange with nice strong fruity sourness, along with tangerines and citrus. Flowery with medium sweetness for a fairly nice sweet-sour contrast, spicy biscuity with strong lemon to round. Very nice!

Hoppiness: Mandarin, citrus, Floral, spices, wood, lemon and light grass in nose, same in taste but stronger; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid to strong astringent sour-sweet Ale malty finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Orange citrusy and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one already has massive real-fruity, sweet and sour mandarin and tangerine characters, which is also boosted by dry-hopped Mandarina Bavaria hops for some nice citrusy taste. This sweet and sour thing seems to work out just fine with an ESB base, which begs the question why make an undrinkable, ultra-sour and boozy sour-mash IIPA that is the Mr. Orange 2018 Version? Stick with this one, PLEASE!

Huge frothy white head. Excellent lacing. Mostly diminishing. Translucent dark-yellow body. Aroma: moderate malt, caramel, moderate hoppy, pine, citrus orange. Initial flavor: moderate sweet. Final flavor: moderate sweet bitter light acidic; long duration. Palate: light medium, dry texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. malt flavors evident (no; tends towards bitterness). The malt profile is typically bready, biscuity, nutty, or lightly toasty, and optionally has a moderately low to moderate caramel or toffee flavor (not at all). Hop flavor moderate to moderately high, with a fruity character (lots of orange). Hop bitterness and flavor should be noticeable, but should not totally dominate malt flavors. high fruity esters. slight alcohol warmth but this character should not be too high. Amargor lembra bastante casca de laranja. Agradável e de boa drinkability, mas foge do estilo até pela proposta de experimentação. 60 s

13/20 strong grapefruit but not overly bitter, orange as well, loads of flavour

330ml bottle, probably a year old now. Orange with a very light haze, huge frothy white head, and good retention. Aroma is very citrusy, those mandarins and tangerines dominate. Mandarins and tangerines dominate the taste too, very citrusy and zesty, tart, grapefruit bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium body, soft carbonation. Quite unlike any ESB I've ever had, but it's quite nice, overly orange as you might guess.

Pour light burning orange with a two fingers thick white head. Not fresh (time to clear the cellar) but still a very nice ESB with a distinct astringent citrusy touch and mild bitterness. I reminds me of a mellow sour beer somehow. Medium carbonation and a great creamy mouthfeel. Very drinkable and refreshing. I bet this was great fresh...
