snowcrash000 (2268) - Cologne, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2023 Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, doughy malt and bitter, grassy, herbal hops. Taste is a decent balance of biscuity, doughy malt and bitter, grassy, herbal, spicy, slightly fruity hops, with hints of citrus, black pepper and vanilla coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some bitter, herbal, spicy notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. This is the first beer from this brewery that I found pretty disappointing, while I really enjoyed all of the other brews I had by them. This may be due to age though, as most of the other stuff I had by them was not very hop-forward. Given the hop bill of Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic here, very little of the expected fruity tropical and citrus notes are coming through, except for hints of citrus, with this being more on the bitter, grassy and herbal side. Likewise, the vanilla this supposedly contains is hardly coming through at all either. Instead, I'm getting hints of black pepper and clove from this. Quite odd, the flavor profile I was expecting from this is really not lining up with the actual flavor at all. All of that does not make this a bad beer though, I mean, I do like bitter, herbal spicy beers, I just had a very different expectation of this.

DocuDrinks (2420) - Riga, LATVIA - NOV 3, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2020 Tap filled to bottle a few mins ago. Smell- weak, hops, malt. Foam- thin to medium, soft, bitter and malt notes, hops. Head is medium-sized, kind of creamy, yellowish-white color, sticks to sides. Appearance- almost fully clear, orange, amber, some weak carbonation. Taste- weak malt, hops, bitterness and more hops with sweetness. The aftertaste remains as hops and bitter notes for some time. Bit not my type, but still decent and drinkable, I bet it will go very well with some fish I have there :)

On tap at Labietis Centraltirgus. Got a bit confused about this one as I was told it was “a pale ale”, and I was rating it as a not very appropriate example of that. Turns out it’s actually an IPA with added vanilla, which is much more likely. Anyway, pours a pale bronze with an adequate head. Malty and spicy aroma, with a sharp hoppiness on the tongue. Hints of citrus and sweet fruits, with a long-lingering bitter finish. Beer might be better than my ratings suggest, because it wasn’t what I was looking for at the time.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2017 330ml bottle (Labietis, Riga) (5:3:5:4:11=2.8)
First beer of the morning after a crazy Metenis, this one seems like a good starter. Rich malty aroma, herbal and grassy. Taste similar. Full palate. Bitterness quite tanniny. A touch underwhelming, but not bad.
330ml bottle - shared by Marduk - thanks! (6:3:6:4:13=3.2)
Mellow. Gentle spicy finish. Peppery bite. Better than before, rather nice.
