Bottle purchased at beverages for less in Santee. Mahogeny red poor little carbonation. Nice dough flavors of yeast, bisquit, candy sugars, carmel, raisins. Nice but a different tasting barley wine.

#800. nose is big hops, musky and piney, with chewy malt character- light toffee and chocolate. cloudy brown-ruby with a thin white head and nice lacing. the first impression is an immense thickness, followed by chewy, sweet caramel and chocolate with light alcohol presence and some piney hop notes.

22oz bottle–pours a rich tan head that dissipates and copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel/brown sugar, dark fruit, pine hops, slight oak. Taste is balance of sweet medium malt-caramel/brown sugar, dark fruit-plum/raisin, pine hops, slight oak. Thanks to bitterbill for trade with jwc215 & me.

Deep amber color pour with a foamy, lasting head. Lots of caramel malt, vanilla, brown sugar and bourbon in there. Also a good hoppy finish. Very nice brew.

Bomber poured into Old Guardian glass from Stone. Excellent aroma that blends big hops with sweet malt and aged goodness. Deep dark amber that is slightly cloudy. Huge flavor that is intensely sweet but deliciously drinkable. Fantastic butt kicker of a beer.

Bottle. Bright red. Nose is a bit perfumy, malty, winey. A bit sweet, perfumy, very hot. This needs another 6 months at least in the bottle.

Much thanks to bleeng for this beer. Pours a red amber pour with thin white head. Aromas fo rich malts, schwartz aromas, roasted malts, and wood. Flavors of integrated malts, biscuit, and flowery hops. Alcohol is very well integrated......and has a great finish.

On tap at Stone Brewing Co, (Escondido, California): Pours out deep reddish brown with a large retaining off-white foamy head. Aroma of sweet malts, especially caramel malt notes and some grassy hop notes as well. In a word, the nose reminds me of musk. Flavors are dominated by sweet malts with a nice grainy backing and highlighted with light citrus, chewy caramel and roasted vanilla notes. There’s also a notable grassy feel that gives it that "chewy" texture. Drinkability: For a barleywine, the alcohol is masked extremely well without being too cloying. Pairing: Fierce dessert. Rebuy: Yes. #303 on 26022010, DG.
