Commercial Description:
A medium bodied wheat ale, contains 4.5% alcohol by volume, and has a distinctive red color from a compliment of caramel malt. Its well balanced character and clean, light finish make it a very approachable beer.

It smells pretty much like most of the brew coming out of wild rose, a bit of ’wred’ in the crystal malt (?). It looks great, a dark red glow. It tastes similar to most of wild rose again, the pervasive yeast taste rising to the top after my friend reminds me of its presence in all thier products. Not without a little prickle on the tounge on the way down, but not too jarring either. I will consider it as a 6-pack purchase the next time I see itl.

Pours a clear amber with a shimmering red highlight to it. 2 finger cap retreats quickly, poor lacing. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is 2 dimensional with caramel malts over grassy hops. Thin body, bit of wheat dryness and biscuity taste at the front, thin balanced center, lightly bitter watery finish. Needs more malt or some toasted grains to bring up the body and set off the profile. Really forgettable.

Bottle. Poured with a spare, off-white head that quickly diminished to almost nothing. Body was amber-colored and slightly hazy. Aroma was of light wheat, some slight malt in there as well. Medium-bodied on the palate, thin-textured yet slightly oily. Average carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Tasted lightly sweet and wheaty in the beginning, but finished with a very low bitter taste. Interesting. Overall I liked what they’ve tried to do here, and I feel they’ve succeeded more than they’ve failed. I’d definitely have it again.

Bottle courtesy of savvy1982. Pours mahogany with a thin white head. Smells of roses, peppery, earthy. Tastes of caramel, earthy, watery.

Bottle. Pours a pretty red color, with an off-white head that quickly reduces to a ring, and laces well but not extraordinarily. Nose is very weighty and malty, with big nutty maltiness, caramel, and a round rich character. Smells like a good ESB. Palate is disappointing, with a coppery/bloody character, a thin mouthfeel, and little of the nice roastiness found on the nose coming through. This beer is better on tap, but frankly I’m a bit disappointed in the flavor and mouthfeel considering how promising the nose was.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of wheat with some dry caramel malt is somewhat interesting. Taste is also a nice mix between some wheat malt with light cloves ester and some dry caramel malt. Very refreshing with good carbonation and average body.

On tap at the Brewery. Nice deep red colour. At the time the smells ofvthe brewery overshadowed the aroma a bit, But the beer tasted very nice. It has a good mouth feel and was suprisingly creamy for a red ale. I ubderstand that it is supposed to be a hefeweizen. But, I did not feel that this beer had any of the character or appearance of a hefeweizen.

Sampled at the Brewery. Pours a dark amber/red with a small white head. Aroma has a lot of vanilla, also has chocolate, red berries and very distinctive wheat smell. Tastes of caramel, vanilla, chocolate red berries and wheat. Nice bitterness, creamy mouth feel. Pretty nice beer.
