| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2010 Had from bottle March 20th, 2010. Pours very dark red, fizzy, lots of lacing, small head dissipates quickly. Aroma is of - what else - raspberries. Lots of sugar, alcohol, and fruit. The taste backs up the aroma - lots of raspberries, strong alcohol aftertaste. Overall, it’s a smooth drink, but waaaay too fruity. I think the pureed raspberries just dominate this one a bit too much - perhaps whole raspberries could have pulled off the flavor in the same way without overdoing it. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2010 Bottle. Aroma of raspberry and alcohol. Golden amber body with no head but nice carbonation... Oily texture...Sweet raspberry flavor that is overwhelmed by the alcohol, rolls off the back of the tongue and has a warming power... philbertk (867), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2010 Sampled in bottle on 20th anniversary beer tour. Pinkish gold color. Smells like raspberry cider, aroma alone might make some pass out from alcohol inhalation. This size bottle should likely be shared by at least eight people. Perhaps should be aged for two decades? Raspberry flavor, plus cherries, cedar and something dusty like peat. As it warms I detect chocolate. Definitely easier on the palate as it warms. MesandSim (6262), London, Greater London, England
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2010 A Sim rate (on tap at Cambridge Common EBF afterparty): Everyone at the table kept ordering this beer and wondering why it never turned up but forks kept appearing at the table. Then Todd clocked what was happening and went up to the waitress, "Um, we’ve been trying to order the Dogfish Head Fort and we keep getting forks". "Ooooooooh". From then on, no one could get a fork :) Anyway, on to the beer - Smells delightfully fruity: blueberry, cherry, raspberry, cranberry. You can smell the alcohol, but it’s not overpowering. Slightly reddish golden brown colour that looks great. Again, the flavour is super-fruity and although it’s an alcoholic hit, it’s not overpowered and the fruit shines through. Sweet grenadine with a hit of cranberry. Sweet & sour. Nice, tingly palate. beerbill (2080), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2010 750 ml bottle from 2007. Pours a mostly clear amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left no lace. Strong aroma of raspberries with some fairly strong alcohol vapors as well. The flavor is malt and raspberries. The raspberries are more sweet than tart. Very boozey finish, probably one of the most boozey beers I have come across. Silky mouthfeel. Overall, I liked this beer, however, I could have done with a good bit less of the alcohol. graham515 (464), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 17, 2010 Pours amber into the glass with a slight purple/pink tint. Aroma is like that of nail polish remover. I don’t mean this to be an insult but there is an unmistakeable solvent quality about the aroma. Flavor is much the same of a raspberry flavored liquor. Strong ethyl alcohol and fruity flavors. JCB (1929), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 14, 2010 Gotta agree with my man Bob on this one. Pleasure to try, yadda yadda. But let me quote Mary Poppins here: a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine goes down. That’s what we’ve got here, kids: raspberry cough syrup. I have no doubt that this is the world’s strongest fruit beer. But however impressed I might be by the records, I wouldn’t necessarily enjoy the world’s greasiest cheese fries or the hot dog made with the world’s most rat lips. I’m just sayin’.
