Commercial Description:
Celebrating 20 years of remarkably good taste! Characterized by a medium-body & dry well-balanced finish, this deep brown porter brewed with Dutch cocoa and pure raspberry extract evokes chocolate, caramel and fresh tart raspberries. Keeping our specialty product cool, still & dark pays rewards in flavor changes over the next year or more.

Bottle shared after MBG 06 with Jerc, Blankboy, and GregClow. Very dark brown, black, dark brown head. Sweet dark fruit, burnt aroma. Baltic porter sweetness as well. Sweet porter taste but also tons of berry - interesting - wasn’t expecting that! Thin body. A solid porter with grape juice!

A nice chocolate raspberry aroma. Very sweet bittersweet chocolate with some raspberry and a little metal. Really not a porter, nor tasty. Much too like a confectionary candy piece.

Aroma was almost like standing on a peir and smelling the lake Michigan water. Dark body and tan head as usual porters are. A mild tart raspberry flavor at first. Toward the end a semblance of chocolate flavor appeared. Left a dry coco aftertaste on the palate.

Pitch black coloured body, 100% opaque with a nice light brown head that tops the beer perfectly. Aroma of an amazing combination of raspberries, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong raspberry flavour with a good amount of dark chocolate and a full coffee finish. Aftertaste shows some potent coffee bitterness with a good chocolate aftertaste with the small tint of raspberries on the palate. Overall, an amazing beer - one of the best i’ve had in this style. I’d reccomend this to anyone as long as they can find it! I sampled this pint-sized bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 04-February-2006 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Sour milk nose, opaque brown, frothy rocky head. Toasted malt goes by quick, hint of berry and licorice. Juice-like at times, and even like a brandy. Interesting. Takes a minute to figure this one out, so give it a chance first.

Bottle shared with blankboy, jerc and tupalev at the hotel after the MBG Summer Festival - blankboy’s bottle. Dark, murky brown with a wispy tan head. Sweet malt and berries in the aroma, with dry cocoa as an end note. Body is thinnish, but OK. Flavour is quite dry, with notes of tart/sour berries and cocoa powder. An interesting experiment that ended up being better than I expected.

Bottle shared with theisti and Zinister. Thanks to Tim for luggin’ this liter bottle with him. Pours no-light black with an aroma of modeling clay, hopped chocolate, and cedar chips that remind me of puppies in a pet store. Tastes like chocolate mixed with severely unripened fruit. Try to keep the fruit on the vine a tad longer, fellas. Average mouthfeel. Interesting beer with many faces.

Dark Brown with Good Tan Head. Suggestively Grainy...Grapey and Tangy. Pretty Plain and Without The Flavors You Would Hope to Find.
