Standard porter visuals here, if lacking any real substantial head. Decent roasted character, a tad smoky. Light in body. Served a bit too cold. This is a beginner’s porter, but that’s OK -- quite drinkable and unoffensive to almost anyone. (#3823, 1/27/2010) dmschefke (384), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA

Taste is pretty smooth and easy to drink, not thick, but not overly thin either. Goes down pretty easy. thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 21, 2008 This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation . The aroma was dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a mellow malty aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of hops dark malt and coffee. An OK brew just nothing special. hotstuff (3196), Indiana, USA

Deep brown hue with a fizzy head and no lace. The aroma has notes of smoke , hazelnut, ripe apple, buttery bread, hint of mocha and coffee. The taste has an equal combination of sweetness and tartness with some grassy hops as well. A whole lot of coffee influence on the finish. The body is thin and watery. Okay but suffers visually and in feel. Pailhead (2680), Riverview, Michigan, USA
