Commercial Description:
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Bottle 12fl.oz.
Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, keller, caramel notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [260908]

Not very good. I’ve grown to love this style this season, but this is one of the weakest of the bunch. Aroma is good..caramel and malt. Pour was as nice as any O/M. Light brown with a nice 1 finger white head. Taste was another story. A little too caramelly. There is a stickiness that overpowers the beer with the caramel and not much to balance it.

Draught. Pours a darky brown with a mild head. Pretty average Oktoberfest for my money.

Bottle. Light amber in color with some cloudyness. Off white film on top for a head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium palate. Not as good as a Paulaner but still not bad.

This marzen pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and toffee, a touch fruity and sweet as well. A medium to lighter bodied marzen. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are slightly spicy and a touch earthy. Nice balance. Lively carbonation. Kind of a milder tasting marzen, it seems a touch thin tasting at times. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some lingering caramel flavors.

On Draft @ Sunset Grill with the Mad_Indian. Pours iced tea colored with an average size white head. Aroma of caramel, sweetness, and slight toast. The flavor is sweet, caramel, lightly toasted, with a somewhat thin and watery body.

Draught at The Federal in Durham, NC. Clear copper color with thin white head. Nice caramel aroma and malty caramel flavor. Carbonation was very mild, which was a nice suprise.

2005, bottle Dark orange with long lasting lt tan head. Had a hard time picking up aromas, but what I did get was sligtly malty. Sweet flavor with hints of carmel and malt. sweet, long finish. Medium body, slightly sticky. Not too bad, but something is missing in the malty flavor department that I’d expect in an oktoberfest.
