Ale Alpharetta. Not sure this was that fresh, actually notes indicate a year old almost. Taste was old malts, but in a clean way. Caramel, faded piney hops with a linger bitter finish. Would have certainly been better with some freshness.

Sample at Ale Alpharetta. Pours light yellow, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is floral hops, resin, and butterscotch. Very bitter, but with a nice, malty sweetness. Medium body, with a thin, astringent, chalky, and grainy mouthfeel, that somehow ends up being very pleasant. This is an over-age IIPA that’s aged surprisingly well.

Bottle pour golden. Nose slight soapy pine, cat, hint of old spice. Taste fruity hop, pine, then bitterness. Some sweetness in the mid palate, long bitter finish.

Sample at Aces & Ales in Las Vegas. Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, pine and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma has grass, spicy and resiny hops with some toasted malt. The flavor has grass and mild resin with a toasted malt backbone and decent bitterness to the finish. Smooth mouth feel.

On tap at the brewpub, Vegas. Light amber, hazy, with a thick off-white head. Surprisingly, this is not nearly as hoppy as the Dirty Dog IPA. Given the freshness and abundance of hops in the regular IPA, I had high expectations for this imperial version. I was very disappointed. Not that this beer was bad, just woefully underhopped compared to the excellent Dirty Dog. Oh well.

22 ounce bottle at Freakin Frog. Owner thought this was special and we would want it. Overpriced, of course. Hoppy. Pine. Grapefruit. Best of the Las Vegas beers I had.

Pale golden from the tap with a thin white foam. Big aroma of tangerine and grapefruit. Strong piney bitterness with moderate body. Finish is more hop bitters and dryness. Pretty nice.

Draft. Clear medium light gold with a one finger white head, good enough retention. Citrus dank dry hopped nose, some pine and cracker malt behind. Flavor follows, not getting any sweetness, but the bitterness wasn’t too crazy, either, peaking at a 5. Some alcohol noted, bone dry finish. Medium body, light to mod carbonation. Pretty tasty, but seems to be lacking a little something.
