Aroma is bitterness, hops and pine with some floral air to it as well. Pours a deep amberish copper, nice lookin pint. Palate shot is smooth in, then the hoppy bitterness grabs you by the quaff before making a smooth getaway. Not unlike Shipwreck by Mission, although less pronounced. Tastes is piney, bitter hops throughout with a bit of citrus fruit to round it out. As 10% ABV ales go, this one masks its strength deliciously. Getbetter (80), Cucamonga, California, USA

Very similar to the DuganA, maybe not quite as good, but great balance and hides the outrageous booze content very well. Smell is blazing out of control. Mouth is huge and thick for an IIPA and lingers forever. Great brew. hatchattack (67), Virginia, USA

Smooth and sip-able, like a long road with a great view but a few speed bumps. First few sips leave a lingering bitter hoppy taste on the back of your tongue. There is also a sweet citrus taste and a very subtle spicy kick. Not too malty unlike many Imperial IPAs (In my opinion.) Delicious. By the end of this bottle I doubt I’d be able to write a legible review. What a great beer! badgerfan9501 (9), Alabama, USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Ehhhhhhhh. Its OK. Appearance : Hazy amber with medium nice creamy off white head. Head leaves extensive lacing as it fades away. Terrific look.
Aroma : Nose is very resinous and quite floral. Some grapefruits as well. Quite a lot of malt also. Some mango or passion fruits. Quite complex. Peppery
Taste : Taste is warm and quite alcoholic. Spicy with some hops. Very malty. Quite bitter on the finish but still has lots of malt. Hops are very peppery. Very hoppy and bitter. Resinous and peppery. Finish is quite warm, peppery and resinous
Overall : Very intense brew, thick and hoppy. Too peppery for my liking. A bit too malty for me also. I think I like my IPAs less malty and more crisp and dry. I agree this is an awesome brew but it just don’t fall in my tastes...
