| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2009 I prefer this one over the Guinness Draught. More aroma and flavor, and a slightly thicker palate. Flavor contains a bit of coffee and some hop bitterness in the finish. Nothing too overboard, but drinkable and smooth. An excellent session stout that is always easy to find. ditmier (1219), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2009 This is the stout that I grew up with. I had this one way before the draft Guinness, and in a way, I missed it. It is shocking that it is brewed by Labatt, and it is brewed by wort from Guinness. Nevertheless, it is a tad bigger in body than the draft Guinness, but overall, the slight roasted malt flavor and thin body just falls short of other stouts of today’s micro-brewed crazed country. twistedviews (74), California, USA

I thought this one deserved a second look because it is my highest-rated massed-produced brew. I’m not surprised to find it is Labatt’s highest-rated product in their portfolio. There is no getting around this is a really nice dry stout that is actually affordable. If this had a little more sweet malts for balance, I would even rate it higher! crisp500 (17), New York, USA
