Aroma is a fruity spice, yeast and light citrus notes, hazy yellow, pours a short lived white head. Flavour begins with a hit of yeast, then malt, orange, white grapefruit and soft spicing. Light bodied, really well balanced, refreshing and certainly easy to drink. Great! Thanks for this treat Dave Steen! Toxygen (419), Sanford, Florida, USA

aroma: cidery.
flavor: ^sharp ^cidery grassy lemon-zest/rind, did not detect much malt character.
i’ve not tried a lot of saisons, but i liked the few french ones i’ve had much better. to me, saison is about sweet vs sour, rather than sweet vs bitter. i think this one needs a little more sweetness to anchor the tartness and sharp, funky flavors. GodOfThunder (921), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a clody gold with a white head. Some citrus in the nose along with strong notes of basement. The flavor is tart up front and very earthy in the finish. Very funky throughout. This is a pretty solid quintessential saison. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle:   Pale golden, minor haze, lively carbonation, large white frothy head, nice lacing.   Fruity nose, big grape juice component.   Wow, Welchs Grape Juice sums this one up.   Otherwise faint woody and barnish notes.   Not very floral.   Flavorwise, pale fruitiness.   Hmmm, doesn’t even come across as a Saison.   Has a musty unflavored pixie stix like quality. Minor chalkiness on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Odd duck.
