Commercial Description:
Cask: Regular.
Name changed from Generation to 303AD in Spring 2005.
A pale dry bitter, predominantly hoppy with hints of citrus and ginger. Brewed with proportions of Amber Malt, it is our only beer to use dwarf hop variety First Gold. Originally brewed to celebrate the birth of the sixth generation of the founder of the company.
303AD celebrates St George, patron saint of England. This is the year of his death.

Sampled cask conditioned. Pale amber coloured. Loads of hay aroma in the nose. Flowery aroma. Nice, firm malty body, balanced bitterness. This is the sort of ale when you start to wonder if it’s even possible to make it taste better.

Cask Conditioned at The Pear Tree, Hook Norton. Orange Gold in colour with a thick white head. Spicey malty impact from the off, with smooth nutty flavours. Lovely hopped finish with long dry bitterness.

Cask at the Wharf. Very fruity hop aroma. Quite hazy copper colour. Frothy white head. Good, uncompromising bitterness, slightly yeasty. Low carbonation, but very drinkable. Good mouthfeel, comes off as if it has more alcohol than the 4.0% the coaster says.

Light amber colour with a decent head. Fizz on the tongue. Decent palate. Slight aromas of citrus and honey. Quite bitter and not too sweet. Good and quite hoppy.

[Cask at Charlie's Bar] The aroma is sweet fruity. The color is red and it has a fine head - especially for a cask beer. The flavor is sweet malty and fruity with a great bitter end - that turns dry. A very good beer.

[Cask conditioned at Charlies Bar] Pale amber coloured. Hoppy flowery aroma. Hoppy flavour with piny notes and a lingering bitter finish. Very fresh and pleasant.
