| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2010 Many thanks to GregClow. Appearance: Dark Brown, tiny white head. Aroma: Quite ’oaty’ almost porridge like at first, very roasty, a little spice and ginger, some candy too. Flavour: Very candy like, ginger for sure; cinnamon, fresh rye bread and caramel. Interesting. Naven (898), Poway, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 14, 2010 12 oz bottle. I’m always a little scared when I open a Christmas ale. They run the gamut from being very good (Wassail) to downright nasty (Stone/Nøgne Ø/Jolly Pumpkin Special Holiday Ale), but this was pretty good. A really nice copper color (My wife said, "that’s a pretty beer") and A nice nutty, malty body, with just a hint of spices. I loathe overly spiced beers. Thankfully, this wasn’t one. pettibzb (2), Ohio, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2010 AROMA: roasty, toast, nutmeg, cinnamon. APPEARANCE: Golden brown, hazy, minimal tan head. TASTE: Medium bitterness, PALATE: Medium body, has a "bite" to it, thin texture, fizzy, bitter / nutty finish. OVERALL: A nice beer for wintertime. Interesting spices of nutmeg and cinnamon with a nutty aftertaste. Bite and fizziness typical of Great Lakes. Not bad. Be sure to buy early in the season--it can be difficult to find in early December. mbuisman79 (232), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2010 Bottle ,a clear amber color pour with a small soapy offwhite head , little to no lacing left , medium carbonation . Aroma is a jumble of spices , cloves , ginger, cinnamon and maybe an artifical honey note .Flavor just seems off , sort of a spicy mess with lots of cloves, a little caramel, candy cane and rasins with a spruce type hop finish , medium body , slick mouthfeel , short finish almost metallic, with fruitcake flavored burps , I would say this is quite sessionable if one was to care for it more than I did . I love you guys at GLB but this one was just not for me . ben4321 (1230), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: The nose is spice, some cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and caramel
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear amber color with a fizzy beige head
Flavor: Taste is somewhat sweet, lots of spice too, mild pine/citrus hop bitter finish
Palate: This one has a medium body and a somewhat syrupy mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
Overall, I can’t exactly explain why, but I like this beer a lot. One beer that I can’t help but like. This is one of those beers that, when you describe it, doesn’t sound quite as good as it actually is. I really like it, but my words above feel like I just sort of liked it.
