12 oz bottle Pours a deep ruby red almost black with a light brown head. Good lacing and a kind of rocky. Aroma is of roasted chocolate maltswith a touch of grapes and raisins. Taste is a rather bland porter. Not real good or bad. Has a nutty flavor with decent aftertaste. This one is sot of plain jane but drinkable.

poured a coke or rootbeer like color., with a thin layer of white head. a very nice aroma, burnt malts, coffee and a hint of chocolate. the burnt flavor is predominant, backed up by a lot of hops...a litte too much hops in my opinion. the flavor just pretty much boils down to burnt hops. i didnt pull too much more out of this.

Deep brown/ruby colored. Nice light tan head and moderate lace. Nose of roast, coffee with hints of chocolae. Medium bodies, nice roasty and coffee flavors, some sweet chocolate nuances, minimal hopping. Smooth, tasty porter.

Nice roasty/chocolatey flavor and great dark color. This beer also has a nice flavor and aroma. A very good porter.

Very good porter. Dark and thick with the amount of chocolate and coffee hops necessary for a great robust porter.

Dark brown appearance with red highlights, so the self proclaimed deep ruby red color mentioned on the label was apt. The head was beige in color and formed to a two finger thickness quite readily, and was sustained for a while. Aroma was sweet and floral, and not quite typical of a Porter due to a lack of roastiness. Taste was also showing close affinity to a Brown Ale with a chocolate with nuts flavor. Not much graininess, sourness, or astringency. While the mild taste, although atypical of the style, was pleasant enough, the mouthfeel was tinny and hollow. Easy on the tongue, but unsatisfying on the deeper level.

Pours dark brown, almost medicinal aroma, I think I detect some cherries in there (?). Wonderful palate, nice and thick and silky smooth. Taste is mildly troubling, kind of dry with none of the chocolatey hints I have come to like from porters. Overall, a nice local (for me) beer.
