Cask at the Wheatsheaf Hotel near Chatsworth. Light amber color. Malt, a bit of citrus, and hop aroma. Very good balance, with nice, carmelly malt and decent though not very strong hops. Very nice.

21st March 2008. Very mild bitter with a creamy head. Tame citrus hops and a dry finish.

Clear lighter amber coloured beer with small white head. A spicy herby aroma. Medium palate. Finish is malty ending slightly roasted dry bitter.

The Merry Monk, Kirton. Clear amber in colour with a large, creamy white head. Subdued floral and citric nose along with some general fruity malts. Quite sweet on the tongue; a fruity maltiness with butterscotch flavours and a bitter citrusy finish. Smooth and easy on the palate; refreshing and highly quaffable as a session beer.

On draughed at The Harp, between The Strand and Trafalgar Sq, London. Good body, excellent mouthfeel, creamy, malt and just the right amount of bitterness. Good beer.

Cockermouth he he he. Can’t remember much about this as I was very very drunk but remember thinking thank god I don’t have to have Carling. It was ok, could have been worse but wasn’t great. Gold with a thick white head. Drinkable enough but nothing to get jimmy out over.

[Cask at Burnt Oak, Milton Keynes] A pale orangey brown bitter with a slight white head. Decent enough earthy hops, some malt, a moderate bitterness. Overall enjoyable enough, easy to drink, but an average, and fairly forgettable bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington Station 20/6/08. Deep gold in colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma of caramel and grassy hops. Flavour started sweet before a touch of spice and a decent bitter finish. Good.
