Ripe cherries dominate the nose, tart and vinous, crisp, fresh and quite sniffable, the start cherry sweet and the top lean in its feel. Finish is spitefully acidic, tart, sweet cherry aftertaste and dry as a desert bone, a decent Lambic, not great, but not bad either.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2003 Aroma is very pleasent and mainly cherry. Appearance is excellent bright red with delightful purple head that is retained and lots of lacing. Full points for appearance. Flavor is a bit one dimensional cherry and a bit thin on the palate. There is a tiny undercurrent flavor that is somewhat barnyardy bit it is quite subdued. Tasty. Indra (2073), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2004 Bottled, best before Oct. 16 2005. Fruity, flowery and lightly sugary aroma, some tartness, light citrus, berry and of course cherry, with a faint herbal woodiness evident. Medium garnet in color, semi-hazy with a pinkish, lightly foamy head. Flavor is sweet to start, becoming tarter as it progresses, with plenty of juicy cherry throughout and a very light twinge of sourness. Finishes sweet again. Body is light and airy, mouthfeel is smooth and gently effervescent. Lacking complexity but very nicely refreshing. Kind of a side note, after having also previously had the New Belgium Transatlantique the addition of this beer to New Belgium’s was even more evident. Darkover (1330), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2007 12 oz. bottle. The aroma is dark ripe cherry; not sweet, but not sour. Just fresh. The color is a hazy reddish color. Unique. The off-white head quickly filmed. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The flavor is cherry, with underlying yogurt sort of sour. It is very like a good cherry yogurt - fat free of course. The finish is dry, a tad tart, and a very slight bit astringent. Makes the mouth pucker a bit. Just excellent. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2009 Pour is a cloudy dark red brown with a noisy purple head that fizzes away quickly. Aroma is cherries with mustiness. Flavor is natural cherry, like I used to eat off the tree before they were completely ripe. A bit of rhubarb, as well. This is surprisingly dry and leaves a moderately dry bitterness as an aftertaste. One of the best lambics I have come across. TheRimmer (483), Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2003 Sour, vinous nose with light cherries. The body was medium and was sour, tart. the cherries seeped through enough and it was smoothe and easy. Very wine like.
