UPDATED: JAN 30, 2024 Bought as vintange, tasted january 2024, so as the bottle is from 2016 we're in vintage land here. aroma is quad like slight dusty dried fruity and also quite malty, sweet malty and somewhat dusty-hoppy, bit oxidized feel to the hops.aroma is velvety smooth and has a very complex+balanced feel to it. also indicates a decent level of ABV, in fact i'm surprised it's only a 7.3% beer. the alc is held very well in the aroma. flavor is licorice, bourbon lagered woody notes of chocolate, coconut and licorice, sweet malts, dusty hoppy balance, some almost herbal notes in there, could be from wood, or just the aging. Beer has kept reasonably well, the only thing really hinting age is the dusty what's left of the hops flavors.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2021 Liquide brun ambré avec mousse moyenne et légère. Nez caramel et très boisé sur le cèdre. En bouche, c'est ultra complexe sur le chocolat noir puis le caramel avant de voir apparaître le tabac, le cuir et le bois le tout sublimant une amertume très présente !! Terrible !!!

Dark brown colour, small beige head. Toasted aroma with cedar wood and caramel. Medium-bodied, mellow. Caramel, ash, toasted malts. Some HP sauce, signs of aging. OKish.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2019 hazy Brown colour, medium sized creamy beige head; aroma of dark chocolate, coconut, some tobacco,, ash and slight coffee notes; taste of dark chocolate, coconut and some burnt woody and coffee notes; great brown ale!

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2019 0.66l bottle thanks to Lore. Slightly murky copper body with a thin beige head. Aroma and taste of caramel, tobacco, coconut, nuts and some orange zest. Very good.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2019 Bottleshare at We Brought Beer, Balham. Murky dark brown. Aroma of oxo, dark sugars and molasses. Treacle, tobacco ash and meaty flavours. Quite a thin body.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2019 A dark brown beer, a head is medium and light beige. Aroma has caramel maltyness, dried apricot, wood, some herbal bitterness. Great aroma. Taste has caramel, dried fruits, lots of wood, balanced sweetness, some bitterness. Only medium bodied, would nice if slightly strenghter body. Nice beer.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2019 Bottle. Pours hazy reddish chestnut, medium tan head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, woody, caramel, toffee, leather, pine. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter, earthy, woody, roasty, piney. Medium body.
