Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

bright golden orange color, light haze. rocky/foamy off-white head, very tall and long lasting. aroma is spicy/sour hops. lots of lacing on the glass. a little caramel malt too. mouthfeel is a little watery, high carbonation. flavor starts malty, a little earthy, dry, and like sourdough bread. goes bitter, a bit metallic, and a little dried lime. what a wierd style.

Poured an ugly copper amber with a big bubbled off white head...smell is a little musty, sweet, and bready...taste is strange...somewhat sweet and citrus up front with hints of corriander...stronger bitter finish...

Bottle: Copperish amber, mostly clear, small light beige head that lasts for a little bit with some good lacing. Aroma: medium hops (though the hops seem to be low alpha acid hops), caramel, malty sweet syrup, nuts, light yeasty wood, and a hint of very sticky sweet earth. Taste is lightly spicy hops immediately, then caramel, earthy sweet malt, sweet lager yeast, light nuts and sugar. There’s an almost acidic, though maybe more bitter feeling in the mouth while drinking this beer, which is quite refreshing. Medium bodied, moderate-lively carbonation, crisp & light mouthfeel.

500ml bottle. Hazy amber color with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Mild aroma of hops, caramel and nuts reminds me of a brown ale. Flavor was drier than expected, with the hops in front and some caramel malt in the background. Quite enjoyable, my first Keller.
