Commercial Description:
ACME CALIFORNIA PALE ALE is a smooth, clean ale with faint citrus and honey flavor notes and a dry finish. It is brewed with Yakima Valley hops and the finest American two-row malt, but with a measure of British specialty malt for depth. This easy drinking pale ale is a "session beer" which will be welcomed at neighborhood taverns and restaurants (and refrigerators) throughout the west.

The Acme name is an apt one for this Pale Ale - serviceable, reliable but not outstanding. Light amber color with a small white head that dissipated quickly to a ring of of tiny bubbles around the edge of the glass leaving little lacing. Aroma is moderate malt with predominant floral hops and a hint of lemon. Nice mouthfeel, creamy and medium body with soft carbonation. Average to long hoppy finish with an intriguing metallic acidity. Indeed a "session" beer as the description claims.

Sweet, mild caramel and malt notes. Easy style of pale ale. Not overhopped at all. Not great, but I won’t complain while I’m drinking one. Would definitely have again.

Bottle pours amber with minimal white head. Aroma sweet and faint. Taste floral and citrus with mildly hoppy finish. Middle of the road beer.

Light malt flavors with a sweet candyish citrusness. Flavor then turns into cardboard. I am hard pressed to find hops in this. Bottle from ABC Liquors, Miami.

Pours amber-gold with a one-finger white head. Dish soap and citrus aroma, with caramel malt and a metallic touch. Weak flavour with some caramel in the beginning, a quick burst of citrusy hops, and then nothing but a slightly soapy aftertaste. Some honey is in there, but not enough to add any depth

Pours a lightly lacing beige head with a deep golden body. Aromas of herbal and grassy hops, some malt. Flavor is a little zesty, little grassy, some caramel notes. Finish is a little thin but with some bitterness and dry for a flash.

bottle... pours an average golden color with a quarter inch white head... aromas of apricot and light fruit... hardly any hops... medium body with more fruit notes, light sweet malts... short finish with barely any bitterness... a very weird pale ale...

Extra in a trade from BA, even though it’s pretty available locally. At any rate, this is an acceptable APA. Semi-soft aroma of bready malts and understated, tea-like hops. Moderately substantial body, flavor washes out somewhat quickly. Inoffensive and certainly not as bad as some of the ratings. But it is forgettable.
