UPDATED: AUG 5, 2017 Robe blonde et limpide. La mousse tient assez bien. Arômes céréales et biscuit, notes florales. Goût un peu malté. Rien de plus. Aqueuse. Pas terrible.

Pours with typical lager foam and color is fairly nice clear mid-toned orange. The aroma is a bit dirty and sweet and is a strong combination of malt and hops. Slight alcohol aroma and some aromas of dried mixed fruits. Palate is surprisingly balanced. Taste is a bit watery, but has a nice and atmospheric overall "woodiness" to it. Taste has mainly just hops and malt, some faint herbal (Jägermeister-like) after taste. This is a Finnish bulk lager, but I still consider its taste a "classic" that I want to revisit occasionally (rarely though). It might not be drank, because it being an exceptional beer, but rather, because of its classic and memory-laden taste. As a beer it’s not special, but not bad either. The score is an understatement, considering the reasons (nostalgia) why this beer appeals to some Finnish consumers. I don’t think it should be scored by comparing the taste qualities directly to other (e.g. foreign) beers, but one must consider also the nostalgic aspect of the taste of this beer.

Again one of those four standard beers from my youth. I would rank them; 1. Karhu 2. Karjala 3. Lapin Kulta 4. Koff. Quite boring watery lager taste, weak hop aroma but more likeable than Koff. Nothing special. Works cold after cutting the lawn.
