The pour reveals a slightly cloudy copper color with a thin white head. Aroma of citrusy hops with caramel malt. Good flavor of citrusy hops with buttery caramel malt and a bitter finish. Light body with an oily texture and low carbonation. Good but feels restrained.

Sampled at Central New York Brewfest, Syracuse NY. 06FE10. Cask.

App.: Hazy deep amber, frail off-white rim. Aroma: So very American – lots of big juicy C-hops, backed my nice crunchy caramalt – marmalade on good German rye bread. Palate: Medium body, still, slick. Flav.: Like the nose, the hops are oily and quite piney with fair grapefruit, enough malt for support, slightly peppery; lightly sweet with good bitterness and a somewhat spicy/peppery finish that fades to toffee.

Pretty nice. One of the few cask ales at the Fest.

22oz from a trade on BA - thanks Foster! Medium amber pour with a very creamy one-finger head and some opaqueness. Smell is crisp and dry with a sweet vapor trail. Taste is a bit interesting in that one moment it seems a bit too sweet, and the next a bit too sharp. Not off-putting just a bit odd. Decent IIPA.

This beer comes with really nice hops. The hops are a little harsh, but it’s in a good way.

2009 Bottle - Thanks corey70! - Pours a hazy orange with a small white head...aroma is oily hops and quite floral, citrus and caramel sweetness...flavour is similar, noble hop profile, dry and biting, light spice and some resin...finish is a lingering clean grapefruit bitterness, with not noticable abv...tasty stuff!

Thick and hazy like a dense fog. Large puffy head. Bright but awfully murky dark orange. The ideal, iconic look for an IPA. Aroma is a perfect floral hop; butter but with a spicy sweetness. A magnificently citrusy hop scent. Stronger and more bitter as it warms. The taste is a strong hop flavor with a spicy citrus. Grassy, floral undertone. Very bitter aftertaste. A spicy, citrusy double IPA with notes of pine. Slight hint of Belgian ale spice. Feels fizzier than I expected; dances on the tongue. Somewheat thick, but thirst quenching. For 10%, awfully easy to drink. Lots of character, not overhopped.

Bottle Pours a hazy orange golden with a diminshing white head. Makes great lacing. Good citrus aroma. Touches of maltiness, spices, and honey. The flavor is crisp and clean. Very hoppy and bitter. The alcohol is well hidden. Has an oily texture. A real good finish with a great aftertaste. This is a real good beer, in the style I love but very crisp and refreshing. This is a really good beer.

22oz bottle courtesy of phhd, thanks Ethan.
Gold/orange pour with a big fluffy white head. Sweet, citrusy aroma with a little maltiness in there. Mild flavor, hops were a bit muted, very easy to drink, the alcohol was very well hidden. Not great, but still pretty good.
