hauxe (4003) - Butzbach, GERMANY - MAR 16, 2024UPDATED: MAR 16, 2024 Black with a frothy, light brown head. Aroma full of the advertised coffee and vanilla. Taste is moderate sweet with fudge up front and roasted coffee grounds at the end. Full-bodied, thick and oily, mild carbonation. On the whole, not bad. Coffee overdosed but none of the sickly sweetness of a lot of beers in this class.

JorisPPattyn (14310) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - JAN 8, 2023UPDATED: JAN 8, 2023 Red-russet head, stable, over jet-black beer, pouring as chocolatesauce. Pure coffee nose, ground coffeebean dregs. Hint at vanilla. Light vanilla, huge coffeebill, and indeed, brown (cane) sugar. Finish, certainly warming up, yields a bit of dark chocolate. Full bodied as few, viscous-chewy and thick; good carbonation, warming. Not really the greatest of stouts, but drinkable enough. I Txs to Stef! /I

Orange head. Black rich on the palate and strong in alcohol. Dry with a hint of bitterness in a coffee and chocolate roast finish.
colui72 (4897) - Sassari, ITALY - MAY 14, 2022UPDATED: MAY 14, 2022 An Imperial Coffee stout... with crema catalana.... mis years spent in Barcelona are screaming with nostalgic aromas...
Aroma says coffee, chocolate, roasted barley and mild cinnamon.
Pours thick, black, brown head, medium sized and with very high retention. Lacing is foamy as expected.
Tastes bitter, some sweetness along but not as expected (although I'm glad of it). Roasty, lot of coffee, dark chocolate, herbal hops and some mild notes of cinnamon (not enough for detecting any relation with crema catalana, either the dessert or the liqueur). Bitterness lingers in the after taste.
Very thick and viscous, creamy, low carbonation, boozy.
A very solid Imperial Stout, not a classic Russian nor a Pastry, but extremely powerful (Barcelona poderosa!)

Pitch dark, brown head.
