UPDATED: SEP 12, 2023 Well stored bottle @ home. Almost black body under a fading beige head. Aroma of malt, dry fruit and mild bourbon. Nice taste of malt, dry fruit, caramel, vinous alcohol, smooth bourbon, hint of wood and balanced bitterness. Fine body with long lasting, warming aftertaste. A pleasant sipper indeed.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2020 Czarne, piana niewielka, opada do obrączki. W smaku czkeolada, burbon, wanilia. W smaku czekolada deserowa, burbon, dębina, kawa, trochę ciemnych owoców. Ciało do pełnego, lekko alkoholowe. 'leganckie piwko.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2020 Bottle sample at a tasting. Opaque black with brown head. The aroma has notes of wood, coconut, chocolate, bourbon, soy sauce, alcohol. The flavor is sweet and mild bitter with notes of alcohol, bourbon, wood, soy sauce, roast, vanilla, a bit salty. Smooth, full-bodied.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2020 Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black, tan foam. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, a bit of apple (acetaldehyde), fudge, sweet, full-bodied, a bit of alcohol. Really good.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2020 Drunk in late 2018. Port wine, cherries, plums, caramelised raisins, honey soy sauce, coffee, roast, cork, licorice. The barrel seems to have been reused countless times, as I did not find a trace of it. Also, a beer of this supposed class overridden with green apple acetaldehyde is something truly annoying. Weak effort.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2019 Bottle at a tasting. Brown black, beige head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, coconut, cocoa. Sweet, roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, wood, prunes, umami, warming alcohol. Full-bodied, smooth, oily. Realy great.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2019 Draught at KCBD19. Pungent vanilla and whisky aroma. Black colour. Small stable dark brown head. The flavour is powerful. Starts off roasted with pungent whisky notes and finishes on a distinct coffee note. Also somewhat sweet, but of course, that is necessary in this type of beer. A luxurious beer.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2019 Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, creamy, lasting head. Smells intensely of roasted, caramel malt and chocolate fudge, with hints of dark fruit, vanilla, bourbon and earthy oak. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by strong roasted, caramel malt and chocolate fudge, with lighter notes of coffee, licorice and dark fruit: raisin, fig, as well as hints of vanilla, leather, bourbon and earthy oak. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some chocolate-covered licorice lingering in the aftertaste. Thick, full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation. An Imperial Stout with a rather distinct roasted/bitter character and strong notes of chocolate fudge and dark fruit as well as lighter barrel notes that could actually be a little more pronounced. Still, this is rather enjoyable for what it is, with a rather nice, full and creamy mouthfeel as well.

Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, oak, chocolate, alcohol, nuts, liquorice, bourbon and light dried fruit. palette: strong roasted malty and medium barrel aged aroma, average carbonation, full body, medium to notable sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, long duration and an oily texture. Overall: very nice barrel aged stout
