UPDATED: AUG 13, 2020 08.08.2020: Taster at home, shared by Werckmeister, courtesy of Sander, many thanks! Pours a hazy wine read to violet with a pinkish white head. Aroma of lots of blueberries and distinct note of smoke along red wine, tannins and blackberries. Nice and rather unique smell. Medium body with a medium acidity and a light tartness. The flavor starts with quiet some lightly acidic blueberries, light lactic notes and sour and tart berries followed by wood and smoke. Finishes dry and again smokey with oak, and a woody tartness. Quiet unique - a nice melange of smokey notes and blueberries. Pretty good! Aroma: 8 Appearance: 4 Taste: 8 Palate: 4 Overall: 16

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2020 750 ml bottle, bottled 04/2019, shared by Sander, thanks! Dark ruby-purple body, with a small, pink head. Beautiful aroma with loads of jammy blueberries, wood, moderate funk, some red apples, some smokey impression. Tastes pretty similar. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes smooth, medium dry, moderate sour, a bit sweet, a bit wooden, a bit vinouswith apple skin, lots of long-lasting blueberries. Delicious! So much beautiful, jammy blueberries everywhere, with some surprising smokey impression, which isn't distracting at all though. Beautiful, smooth stuff, propably my favorite De Garde so far! UPDATED: JAN 1, 2020 750ml bottle. Cloudy, dark purple colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, pink head. Funky, fruity, tannic woody aroma, notes of brine, tarragon, oak, some mustard seed, hints of blueberry, a touch of blue grapes, red wine, minimally cheesy overtones. Taste is dry, tart-ish, slightly tannic, fruity, mildly funky, hints of blueberry, fruit acid, oak, some mustard seed, tarragon, a touch of lime peel, red wine, subtle fruity sweetness; minimally astringent palate, prickly carbonation. Rather mild, quite complex, well balanced - but without the surplus to make me really enthusiastic.
