COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles. George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

nathanvc (5934) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 8, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2020 33cl bottle from Geers. Pours hazy dark brown with an unstable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of toast, tobacco, old dark chocolate, prune, toffee, black tea. Taste has sweetish toffee, dark chocolate & prune, becoming rather herbal, toasty & nutty with a hint of tobacco, giving off a smoke effect too. Dry, toasty finish, the herbal hoppiness keeps hinting at tea leaves & tobacco. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. I can sense something 'old' and 'authentic' about this beer, but it feels like a watered-down version of something better. I might look out for the 75cl bottle and preserve it for a while.

Beese (17142) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2020 750ml bottle from Marks & Spencer, London Colney, and drunk on 25/12/2006. Gosh, I really liked this back in the day. An amazing, rich, robust and roasty Porter with great body and lingering bitterness. There weren’t too many beers like this around, and it was pretty special then. Before the sellout.
