Appears pitch black motor oil and red brown at the edges. Almost no head / lace. But that color .... totally opaque.
The flavor is roasted, nutty stout malts. Burnt cookies and brandy at the swallow. Barley mash and grape as it warms up. Also, that fatty "umami" quality; salty soy sauce. Metallic and very dark. Raisins, hay, maple, vanilla.
Feels oily but with a twinge, like licking a battery. Severely burnt finish. Overall it’s bark (aroma) is somewhat stronger than its bite (flavor). Bold, intense aromas and flavors.
