The flavor is mellow and somewhat malty with an under lying alcohol taste. I am a little uimpressed with this beer, the ladys at Get N’ Go Gourmet recommended this to me. They said that when you open it you get this overpowering aroma of coffee and that it was excellent, but I did not get that impression. Oh well, still a good porter.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2010 Dark brown with a rocky head. Very boozy aroma, but with lots of caramel and chocolate. Very sweet flavor, not too bitter. Smooth mouthfeel. This is a very good porter. I wish it were a bit drier. I imagine that it would age well. Marta (884), Sosnowiec/Żywiec/Zawiercie, Poland

Bottle brown, 500 ml
I am pitifully happy that I’ ve finally got this one!!!
Appearance: Pours dark brown, almost completely not seethrough, moderate carbonation of the body, body is slightly rubby red when put to the light. Body texture is clear. Head is beige, cappuccino like, frothy, firm and healthy, long lasting and slowly decreasing from the initial huge size to the moderate. Lacing is also impressive. Very good general impression of the Baltic Porter.
Aroma: Very nice aroma of red fruits especially dry and candied. Plum, prune, dark chockolate, cacao, coffee, whipped cream, nutmeg, wallnut, chestnut, vanilla, cappuccino, cherry, pine forest, resin, raisin. Aroma reminds some good quality English Porters or English Strong Porter mainly differing in higher gravity and alcohol content. Aroma is very strong and pleasant.
Taste: Very nice strongly bitter and comfortably dry front. Notes of dark chockolate, cacao, coocoo candy, roasted arabica coffee beans, wonderful red fruit accentsperfectly balanced with roasted Munich malt and sharp hoppyness, all in the background of almost winter - warmer like alcoholic impressions. Vanila stick is also hanging about. Finish duration is long, plaesant and complex with ashy notes in nose.
Palate: Body is full, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is moderate to soft, finish feel is long and full of sophisticated taste aberrations darn1207 (750), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 29, 2010 Pours a dark brown almost black. Complex sweet flavors. High alcohol is not really noticable. A good beer to drink on a cold snowy night. Also the price is very reasonable. michael-pollack (2930), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2010 500ml Bottle: Faint aroma of a hint of roasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Poured very dark brown/ruby in color with a very small, tan head that lasted around the edges only. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of slight roasted malt, slight soy sauce, slight chocolate, slight smoke, slight vanilla, and hints of tar and alcohol. Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt, slight tar, and hint of smoke finish. 8.3%ABV is noticeable in the aroma and flavor, but not to the extent of being ’hot.’ JaBier (1518), Capital City, Ohio, USA

Roasty and malty nose with some metal. Sweet and creamy flavor with a roasty finish. Metallic character disappears as it warms. Not bad. durhambeer (1339), Durham, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2010 Bottle, and a cheap one at that. Pours dark brown, almost black with light showing through the edges. Big pink-tinted beige head and nice lacing. Dark fruits and cherries, roast chocolate on the nose. Similar taste, with slightly sour aspect though sweet overall. Nice chalky dry palate, though a touch thin. Lovely beer, especially for the price. alexanderj (2403), Chino Hills, California, USA
