They don’t pour any more perfect than this. You know what that means. Cloudy, copper amber, frothy, exotic head that just wants to see you through. Pecan, honey, spice, and bitter malt aroma. Flavor is dense and hard. A true meal. I can’t even distinguish between the cascade, chinook, and whatever the heck else kind of hops are in this. There is some point where quality trumps variety and this beer has crssed the line on both. Your horses would much rather drink this than whiskey.

Draft at Swift Lounge: Pours a very pretty copper color with a creamy head. Aroma of grassy hops, grass, hops, some citrus, a few more hops. Taste was hopslaughter, but in a good way (I don’t know if my tolerance for overhopped beers is growing, or if I am just drinking more agreeable hopslaughter beers). Yet, the hoppy bite just came at the front and then returned for the aftertaste, allowing the beer to roll down my throat rather smoothly. This is one of those double IPAs that you suspect of being a dIPA, but you think, "well this might just be a normal IPA." I think that is a good thing.

Pours a cloudy light orange with a slightly off-white head. Wonderful citrus/grapefruit aroma with cookie dough. Enough hops to choke a freaking horse. Fantastic hoppy flavor with excellent bitter aftertaste. Little alcohol burn detected. Had this on tap at 3 Cellars in Franklin, Wisconsin. Very, very nice!

Bottle@home Apperance: Amber color with a small white head and lots of lacing. Aroma: Caramel, Wet grass, Fruit, Citric notes. Flavor: Caramel, Hops, Citric notes, Exotic fruit, Grass, Pine. Palate: Hops overload with a nice sweetness in the middle. Ends bitter++. Wow, this was really bitter. Personally i prefer a bit more malt sweetness to along with the hops but this is still very good. One for the hopheads! Don’t bother having anything after this one.

tap: arouma of grape fruit, citrus. Sweet caramel profile with huge bitter finish. Also some alcohol on the finish, but it’s pretty well masked considering.

The aroma was a very nice caramel, citrus. The appearance is a hazy orange, white head. The flavor is caramel sweet, hoppy grapefruit bitter, very nice. The finish is a nice grapefruit bitter. Medium/thick mouthfeel. Excellent IIPA.

A friend was kind enough to split a bottle with me of this uber hoppy beer. The beer poured a ruddy brownish-red with a lot of particulate floating around in the beer. The smell was not hoppy like I expected but a little buttery (diacetyl?). It was still a good smell however. The taste was also not as hoppy as I remembered from GABF but it still packed a punch. The drinkability was pretty darn good because I couldn’t taste the alcohol. too bad this is not available in Colorado. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-04-2007 16:08:27
