| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Mine poured a hazy amber with a small clinging head that laced nicely. Wonderful malty, grapefruit aroma if that makes any sense. Flavor starts malty sweet followed by an intense hop hit. Fantastic dry finish that leaves you wanting more. Very warming on the way down. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 27, 2009 22 oz. bottle, shared with Gabe. Pours a medium off white head of good duration....nose is of mild to medium hop with some pine, some resin.....tastes of mild malts then in comes the hop with heavy citrus tones, and long lingering bitterness....mouth feel is rich and chewy....this is somewhat unbalanced. I’d decrease the Simcoe, and maybe kick up crystal malts. HighGravity (903), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2007 Big and very bitter. The bitter hops washout the flavor and aroma hops and towards the end the beer got a little too sticky for my liking. Interesting enough to keep you sipping though. ogglethorp (903), Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bottle. Pours copper colored, small off white head, that pretty much settles out, some lacing. Aroma is pine, cedar, grapefruit, floral, malt. Flavor is huge punch of toungue numbing pine, grapefruit, cedar, caramel malts, tobacco. Palate is medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, finishes bitter. Great IIPA for sure, but not the best. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2008 well, i had this while eating some saucy, spicy-ass sushi and let me tell you... this beer went awesome with it; yes, this beer went awesome with it... this is clearly an example of the IIPA style... a great, strong and hoppy ale to cut some spicy sushi with :o) basically, if i had this on a palate that was fresh, on an empty and hungry stomach, etc., then this would have been an assault rather than a compliment. dkoonce (901), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2007 Orange, with almost no head. Impressive hop bouquet, with spicy floral notes dominating over the pine resin. Medium body, with a harshness to the hops that is not well balanced by the body.
