Fairly big body to support the high res, sharp, biting hops. It’s all about hops, isn’t it? I know a lot of people get turned off by this, but it just too much fun to pass up. This is really over the top, but in a good way. A really good way. Love it. papajohn (1071), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Bomber from Holiday Wine Cellar: Clear golden amber color with a generous eggshell white head. Aroma is citrus and lots of pine. Flavor starts sweet grapefruit with a little grass followed by sharp pine ending with a tart grapefruit rind bitter finish. Medium bodied and oily with moderate carbonation. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2005 Filmy head. Clear dark orange. Big hop aroma, resin and sticky piney hops. Taste carries big and full sweet hops. Slightly nutty, earthy. Mouthfeel is sticky, coating. Finish is a little dry, bitter hops, pretty clean. Excellent example of a west coast IIPA. jsquire (2159), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Amber color out of the bomber with a frothy off white head and a sharp pine forest and orange peel nose. This beer left lots of sticky lace on the side of the glass. Lots of aroma from what I expect out of a IIPA: grapefruit juice, orange zest and pineapple. Solid bready backbone with a big hoppy resin syrup and a long sweet grapefruit finish. Nice hop head beer. Suttree (2821), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2007 There are a ton of hops in this beer. To discuss anything else in the aroma or flavor would be dumb because all there is to perceive are hops. It’s not a lack or malt, but an overwhelming amount of hopping. There’s pine, citrus and cat piss (in a good way, if that makes sense). The bitterness is harsh, but not over the top with harshness. jazz88 (2281), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 3, 2005 Bottle. A dark hazy rich amber color with a tan head. This beer just looks rich and delightful. Grassy hops, grapefruit, and pine aroma. The aromatic hops float above the glass. Oily and rich, the caramel and malts drip with hop resin to pack a respectully intense hoppy beer. Although clearly high in alcohol content, it doesn’t push itself too far. Well balanced, although not in the upper tier of double IPAs. DaSilky1 (2082), San Diego, California, USA

Tangerine hop nose bending towards grassy. Balanced but big hop flavors flow..the caramelly sweetness of the malt brings out the resiny hop flavors which cause fireworks of candied fruitness. Did i say bitter...but balanced? Bitter but balanced.
