Commercial Description:
An Ithaca-style interpretation of the classic Belgian Wit bier, this unfiltered ale has a unique spicy flavor and dry finish, making it light and refreshing. Pilsen malt and four varieties of wheat create the yellow color, white foamy head, and signature cloudiness of a wit beer. 5.3% abv.

Pours turbid dull gold with 1-finger white head. Nose is dry florals, lime, white pepper, coriander. Tastes citric, limey, white peppery, with clean, dry floral notes, and a very smooth finish, with solid complexity for this style.

The third of three Ithaca samplings tonight in preparation for the Brew Fest tomorrow...slightly cloudy, off-yellow unfiltered body... thin dissipating white head--it’s a wheat, yes... bright, full wheat scents--consistent but not spectacular... medium-bodied, evenly textured to the tongue... lively and engaging... acidic, crisp wheat--nondescript otherwise--and a thirst quencher...a serviceable wheat that doesn’t break new ground or sully the old....a good end to the evening.

Can something be both bright and opaque? If yes, then this is. Aroma is pure lemon wedges with a soft wheatyness in the background. I was surprised to find out this is supposed to be a Belgian White. More of a light-on-hops American Wheat, I thought. Pretty tasty either way.

Tap at Barcade: Cloudy golden with consistent white film. Pleasant spicy aroma with notes of coriander and American hop citrus subtleties. Light & crisp feel. Minerally with some spicy notes- mild coriander presence yet it also has a bit of bitter earthiness. A decent example.

Pours a clear yellow color with a white head. Aroma of coriander, wheat, and lemon. Taste of wheat and lemon with a coriander closing. Not bad for this style.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, light citrus, coriander, and clove. Flavor of banana, clove, bubblegum, and coriander.

My girlfriend picked this up as part of a mixed 12 pack for the summer. Pours just slightly hazy, but produces more of a sparkling gold than a cloudy white/yellow which is typical of the style. Lemony nose is complimented with yeast, mildly hoppy with a good dose of assorted floral and spicy notes. Good corriander. The flavour profile is actually pretty spicy. There’s the tropical fruit component which is balanced by some acidity and hoppiness, and the spices really come through like I mentioned already. Again as in the nose, there’s a good dose of corriander. Finishes acidic, with a good bite from the spices and hops. Well made.

Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium spicy citrus and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting refreshing brew.
