Beautiful hazy orange golden body with a clear red shine, big bubbled white head; Big nose with lots of strawberry to it, not really fresh ones and some rotten aromas in between, slightly sweet barrel and apple aromas behind; Thin oily texture, no carbonation, quite lactic and grapefruit fruity acidy; Long finish with lots of strawberry aromas, here the strawberries are fresh unripe and ripe. Great beer, not as sour as everybody says!

375ml from Drankencentrale, Rutsaert. Slightly hazy, golden color with little to no head. Aroma is sweet strawberry with a light tartness to it, pretty cloying though. Nice tartness with a little earthiness, dirty, big strawberry, some cherry, very nice. Medium to light body with no carb and subtle tart. Very drinkable and excelent strawberry flavor without being too sweet (like a typical fruit beer), except in the aroma ofcourse. Actually very nice.

375 mL bottle, goblet, 48 degrees. No head or visible carbonation; light, hazy peach colored body. Fairly funky, mostly barnyard aroma. Strawberries are present also. Sweet and sour throughout. Somewhat unpleasant flavor / aroma combination (not in the traditional lambic unpleasant manner). Highly acidic, medium body, watery texture, flat carbonation. I've really gotten into all the lambics I've tried so far, but this one just doesn't work for me. The bottom line is: this is a weak lambic with strawberry Jolly Ranchers dissolved in it.

Strawberry wine clear colour - no head. Unripened strawberries and rasberries, grapefuit and milded bread yeast aromas. Sharp quick sweet and unripened strawberry flavoured start, yeasty rawish sour going to an unexpectantly flat and a somewhat flavourless middle, and sweeter refreshing finish. There are better gueuzes out there.

375ml bottle year 2000, tasted summer 2006.

This is a very special beer. The cork releases with a soft whisper; the beer pours like golden-amber apple juice with virtually no head. The aroma is wonderfully rich in everything a lambic should be - leather, heavy musty, barnyard and a sweet Flemish-sour sort of vinegar and the faintest hint of strawberries - without being aggressive or biting in any way. I can’t wait to taste it, and I force myself to savor instead.

The flavors have melded together beautifully, a lovely tartness accented by the smallest strawberry flavor, sweet on the front and sour right after is laid down above a beautiful leather-and-horseblanket lambic base, lemon but more grapefruit (grapefruit sour, not as in c-hops) in the tartness, a small hint of butter as well, beautifully balanced through. The aftertaste is exceptional; instead of turning bitter, the beer sweetens on the tongue a few minutes after a sip, and one gets a lovely blend of caramel and - finally - soft strawberries.

The beer is almost uncarbonated, and I guess I would appreciate a bit more sparkle on this very hot (for Seattle) Friday evening. But it makes up for any deficiencies in the smooth, rich-without-being-syrupy mouthfeel.

I am extremely impressed with this one; at six years old, it’s marvellous.

bottle. hazy orange/copper pour with no heads. peach, strawberry, sug, alcohol, funky earth aroma. tart, sour, apple, pear, peach. pucker up. enjoyed it better as it warmed. paired it with a meal with ginger and it offered a nice contrast. I don’t know if I could drink this without a meal.
