Commercial Description:
Chambly Noire is a smooth and creamy dark beer with a beige and persistent head. Its torrefaction aromas and slight bitterness enable it to perfectly accompany various fish dishes, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts.

Uma cerveja muito saborosa. Uma Dark Storng Ale com um paladar cítrico no final. Espuma de pouca duração. Encorpada, levemente alcóolica no final. Aroma de frutas vermelhas, pão escuro úmido.

Pours dark brown, lots of head, long time to dissipate. Aroma is elusive very mild fruits and yeast. Flavor was fair not very complex, a hint of chocolate and dark fruit, a very simple dark beer. Yearning for a fuller body, a nice everyday dark, decent at best.

Pours a deep, dark brown with a thick head that dissipates slowly to a layer of foam. Aroma is very nice – very fruity, with lots of grape, some other dark fruits, allspice and yeast. Smells like it’s trying really hard to be the Roche 10. Flavor is a bit odd – very, very sweet – like a mix of grape juice and molasses with some yeasty notes. There isn’t nearly enough to counter the sweetness in here – it’d be great if it had a better hop balance and a higher ABV. Not bad, but certainly not great.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black. With an impressive tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has that Unibroue yeast coming through very strongly. Dark fruits (mainly plums) come through on the nose, some chocolate, some herbal notes and cola. Tastes a lot like cola initially. Some herbs, a hint of chocolate, spice, plums, figs, a little raisin, a little black cherry, and a lot of that very distinctive Unibroue yeast. Lively carbonation. Decent beer, but I expect more from Unibroue.

Pours a dark nut brown with a thick bubbly head, but no laceing is left along the sides of the glass. The nose is full of dark fruits and a mild hint malt but nothing potent. The flavor is creamy and bitter. There is nothing that lasts long or really sticks out as you drink the brew. It has some distinct notes of dark fruits and hops but overall it is an alright brew.

12 oz bottle purchased at the Friendly Mini-Mart. Pour gave a pretty sizable cream head on top of a solid black body. Aroma is a little mustier than most Unibroues, yeasty and a bit of smoked meat! Its like dinner in a bottle. Flavor is a little more robust. There is a pretty full malt flavor with slight raisin and fig ending. Its palate is crisp and cloying as it wraps the tongue nicely. The finish ends just right with a warming fullness.

75cl bottle at home, iRate: pours black with a chestnut edge and a decent fading tan head. Aromas of deep dark sugar with black cherries, yeast and mild roast. Light herbs and a touch of alcohol hide out in the back. Notes of musty earth can be swirled up along with a very deep dark bakers chocolate. Very nice. Flavor wise this moves more towards the chocolate and roast side. Smooth creamy milk chocolate with a hint of caramel. Nice paler malts with mild roast. Silky but dry overall. Can be a bit thin and watery at times. Herbal, earthy green note floats around someplace. Cola builds up as the beer warms up. Ends somewhat muddled with weak coffee, chocolate, caramel, and earth.
