Commercial Description:
Mahr’s Brau Ungespundet Hefetrub It pours with a big, creamy, long-lasting, head; has a golden-bronze color; a wonderfully fresh, perfumy; hop aroma; a remarkably smooth, almost oily, malty, palate; very fresh flavours; and a spritzy finish. It is beautifully balanced, but leans to the dry side. This is a delicious, appetising beer and a true taste of Germany’s fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.

Cask (Bayrischer Anstift) at Akkurat, Stockholm. Bronze colour, lightly hazy, minimal head. Aroma of strawberries and butter. Sweet and fruity with mild grassy spicy hops and buttery malt underneath. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Mildly bitter finish.

Cloudy golden color with a thin semi-lacing white head. Aroma of flowers and German yeast. Body is semi-sweet and malty with a dry bitter finish and some yeast esters. Not much complexity, but very smooth and refreshing.

Served on draft into a big mug at Roman’s in MIlwaukee. Cloudy orange body, creamy whte head. Apply aroma with a sugar cookie background. Tart, apply (again) flavor. A nice lager, unexpected amount of flavor.

Poured a cloudy, dark gold. A small head remained for the whole glass. Bananas, peaches and yeast in the aroma. Flavor has apples and a sour finish. This is unique, but not overly impressive.

Yeasty but unexpectedly malty too. Fruity palate with hops coming through. Slightly sour finish. I could drink more of this. Battersea Beer Festival.
